(March 1) Emory University's Rashawn Allen
recorded his first "double double" on the season in Emory's
season finale, a 79-77 win over Case Western Reserve (OH). Hitting
the game winning shot with six seconds left, Allen dropped 16 points
as well as grabbing 10 rebounds in 40 minutes. Allen also dished
out five assists. At season's end, Allen started all but one game
averaging 11.4 points and 4.7 assists per game, respectively third
best and first on the team. Allen recorded 117 assists on the season,
ranking him fifth all time in school history for most assists in
a season.
(Feb. 23) Emory University's Chase Fawsett
scored 62 points and grabbed 23 rebounds in three games last week.
In a win against Oglethorpe University (Ga.) Fawsett recorded his
seventh "double double" on the season, scoring 17 points
and snatching 12 rebounds in only 25 minutes played. At Carnegie
Mellon (Pa.) Fawsett scored a game-high 27 points shooting 9-of-13
from the field. Fawsett needed one more rebound for a "double
double." At Rochester (N.Y.), ranked No. 3 in the nation, Fawsett
again had a game-high with 18 points, playing only 33 minutes. Fawsett
has led the Eagles in scoring 10 times this season, including six
of the last seven games. He leads the team with 18.8 points per
game.
(Feb 16) Emory University's Rashawn Allen
had 14 assists to only 5 turnovers in two games this weekend, averaging
an assist/turnover ratio of 3.75. Against Washington University,
Allen had a game-high six assists. Against University of Chicago,
Allen dished out eight assists, another game-high. Allen now has
103 assists on the season, breaking his personal high of 100, set
last season. This is the third time in Eagle history that a player
has garnered more than 100 assists in the season. Allen currently
ranks fifth on the school's all-time list for season assists.
(Feb. 9) Emory University's Chase Fawsett
shot 69 percent from the field en route to scoring 47 points in
two games last weekend. Fawsett recorded a career-high 31 points,
shooting 15-of-20 from the field against Brandeis University (MA).
Fawsett was one shy of the school record for FGs in a game. He also
grabbed a team-high seven rebounds. Against New York University,
Fawsett dropped a team-high 16 points in 28 minutes. He shot 6-of-7
from the free throw line. For the 14th time this season Fawsett
shot 50 percent or better from the field. He averages 18.7 points
a game, second best on the team. Fawsett leads the team in field
goal percentage, shooting 57.4 percent from the field. Fawsett needs
48 points in the last six games to break his personal high for points
in a season (383).
(Feb. 2) Emory University's Clayton Fuller
shot 56 percent from the field en route to scoring 46 points in
two games last weekend. Against Brandeis, Fuller lead all scorers
with 26 points shooting 10-for-16 from the field and 4-for-6 from
behind the arc. He also dished out six assists and snatched seven
rebounds. Fuller dropped 20 points, a team and game high, against
New York University. Fuller also recorded a team-high eight rebounds
and a game-high four steals. Fuller leads the team in points per
game (20.7), rebounds per game (8.7), and steals per game (1.9).
Fuller, with eight games left to play, is 33 points shy of breaking
his points total last season of 363.
(Jan. 26) Emory University's Chase Fawsett
recorded 36 points and grabbed 16 rebounds in two games last weekend.
In an 83-81 last second victory against Carnegie Mellon University
(Pa.), Fawsett scored 25 points and snatched 11 rebounds, recording
his fifth "double double" of the season. Against University
of Rochester (N.Y.), ranked second in the country, Fawsett scored
11 points and had five rebounds. Fawsett has scored more than 10
points in all but one game this season. Fawsett leads the team in
field goal percentage, shooting 56.0 percent on the season.
(Jan. 19) Emory University's Rashawn Allen
scored 34 points while dishing out 21 assists in three games last
week. In a 92-85 conference win over Washington University (MO),
Allen recorded a season-high nine assists and added 12 points, shooting
a perfect 7-for-7 from the line. At the University of Chicago, Allen
dropped team-highs of 15 points, again being perfect from the line
(4-for-4), and 8 assists on the night. Allen leads the team in assists
with more than 5 per game, moving into fourth place on the school's
all-time list for career assists; he also is third on the team in
points per game with 11.3.
(Jan. 12) Emory University's Chase Fawsett
recorded his fourth 20-point game of the season. Offensively, Fawsett
made eight field goals, one 3-point shot, three free throws, and
two assists. He was credited with four rebounds, one block and a
steal. He had eight 20-point games last season, including the last
three games.
(Jan. 5) Emory University's Robert Spivey
recorded several season highs, including 18 points, in a close loss
at Savannah Art & Design (Ga.). Spivey converted six of 12 attempts
from beyond the three-point arc. The six treys was one shy of his
career high and two shy of the school record. Spivey leads the team
this season in three-point field goals. He is the school record-holder
for treys in a season and career. The senior guard also dished out
a season-high five assists with just one turnover, blocked one shot
and pilfered a season-high four steals.
(Dec. 15) Emory University's Chase Fawsett
recorded his third "double-double" of the season with
14 points and 17 rebounds. The 17 rebounds are the ninth-best in
the schools history. Fawsett also had six steals in the 70-61 win
against University of the South (TN).
(Dec. 8) Emory University's Clayton Fuller
averaged 26 points and 8.6 rebounds in three games last week. In
a home loss to nationally ranked Maryville College, Fuller scored
a career-high 31 points, and was one rebound shy of his fifth "double
double" of the season. Fuller became the 11th player in Emory
University basketball history to score 30 or more points in a game.
In a win at Oglethorpe (Ga.), Fuller recorded his fourth consecutive
"double double" on the season, recording game highs of
25 points and 10 rebounds. Shooting 7-of-8 from the field and 7-of-11
from the free throw line, Fuller dropped 22 points in a loss at
home against Puget Sound (WA). This was the fifth consecutive game
that Fuller scored 20 or more points. He recorded six 20-point games
all of last season. In six games this season, Fuller has already
compiled almost half the points he had all of last season in 24
games.
(Dec. 1) Emory University's Clayton Fuller
recorded his third consecutive "double double" on the
season in the win against University of the South (Tenn.). Fuller
scored 24 points and grabbed 12 rebounds. He was a perfect 10-for-10
from the free-throw line. For the first three games of the season,
averaging a "double double," Fuller leads Emory in points
(22.7) and rebounds per game (12.7). He is also leading the team
in free-throw percentage, shooting 84.8 percent, four percentage
points higher than last season. Fuller has now tripled the amount
of "double doubles" he had last season.
(Nov. 24) Emory University's Clayton Fuller
notched two double-doubles in the first two games of the season.
Fuller helped the team to its first win of the season against LaGrange
College (GA) with 23 points, including nine of 12 free throws, and
16 rebounds, including six offensive boards. Fuller contributed
his first double-double of the season in a loss to nationally ranked
Maryville College (TN). Fuller scored 21 points, including nine
of 11 free throws, while grabbing 10 rebounds. For the season, Fuller
is shooting18 of 23 (.783) from the free throw line. Last season,
Fuller was second on the team in scoring with 15.1 points per game
and led the team in free throw percentage (.807,) while earning
one double-double.
