(March 22) Junior Chris Halstead earned the title of national champion with a first-place finish in the 200-yard backstroke at the NCAA Division III national championships. Halstead's time of 1:48.13 broke the school record in the event that was previously held by Halstead (1:49.45). The time of 1:48.13 is the third-fastest time in NCAA Division III history in the event. He placed fifth in the 200-yard individual medley with a time of 1:51.43, which broke a school record. Halstead broke a third school record in the 100-yard backstroke with a fifth-place finish and a time of 50.71. He swam the leadoff leg of the 400-yard medley relay that finished second (3:22.06) and broke a school record. Halstead finished fourth as part of the 200-yard medley relay team (1:33.00). Halstead earned five All-America honors, becoming the second individual to tie a school record for most ever All-America honors in a year. He now holds a total of eight career All-America honors.

(Feb. 23) Sophomore, Devin Rhinerson, finished first in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 50.95 seconds at the Emory Invitational held this past weekend. Rhinerson also finished third in the 50-yard freestyle completing it in 22.31 seconds. As a team, Emory will now prepare for the NCAA Division III national championship to be held in March.

(Feb. 16) Junior Chris Halstead qualified in two events for the NCAA Division III national championship to be held in March and he also earned All-Conference honors in four events at the University Athletic Association championship held at Emory this past weekend. Halstead finished first in the 100-yard backstroke (51.12 seconds), which qualifies him for the nationals. He also finished second in the 200-yard individual medley (1:53.82) and second in the 200-yard backstroke with a time of 1:49.83 seconds, which also qualifies him for the national championship. Halstead also swam the lead-off leg of the 200-yard medley relay team that finished first. The Emory men's team won the UAA title for the sixth year.

(Jan. 26) Emory University's Daniel Weissman attained a provisional qualifying time for the NCAA Division III national championships. The junior swam the 1,650-yard freestyle in 16 minutes and 7.01 seconds in a tri-meet in Kentucky. That time is the eighth-fastest time in the nation this season. This is the second tie this season Weissman has qualified for the NCAAs in the event. The junior is a three-time All-American, including a sixth-place finish in the 1650 at the NCAA championships last season.

(Jan. 12) Andrew Schapiro of Emory University won two events in a dual meet against a top-10 NCAA Division II school. Schapiro won the 100- and 200-yard butterfly events against University of Tampa, to conclude a nine-day winter training trip. The junior was timed in 52.57 in the 100 fly and 1:57.14 in the 200 fly. To date, he has the fourth-fastest time in the nation this season in the 200 fly and the eighth fastest in the 100 fly. Emory won the dual meet against a school that finished sixth at the Division II national championships last season.

(Dec. 8) Junior Chris Halstead of Emory University swam three automatic qualifying 'A cut' times for the NCAA national championships and broke a school record at the Miami (Ohio) Invitational. Halstead's time of one minute and 49.02 seconds in the 200-yard backstroke was the fastest time by any swimmer at the Miami Invitational and the fastest time in Emory school history. Halstead finished third in the 200-yard individual medley with an 'A cut' time of 1:52.97. His performance in the 200 I.M. was the second-fastest swim in that event in school history. Halstead also qualified for nationals in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 51.15 seconds, a top-10 performance in school history. He was a member of the second-place 200-yard medley relay and the sixth-place 200- and 400-yard freestyle relays. His performance at the meet helped the Eagles finish fourth overall out of eight teams. Last season Halstead was a two-time All-American.

(Nov. 17) Sophomore Justin Hake was Emory University's top finisher in the 100-yard butterfly in a dual meet against an NCAA Division I school. Hake finished fourth with a time of 52.22 seconds. He also placed fifth in the 50-yard freestyle and swam a leg on Emory's top-finishing 200-yard medley relay. Last season Hake earned four All-America citations.

(Nov. 10) Junior Chris Halstead of Emory University swam a provisional qualifying time for the NCAA Division III national championships in the 200-yard backstroke. Halstead placed second in the event with a time of 1:53.87 at the Carnegie Mellon Invitational. He also finished second in the 100-yard backstroke. Halstead was a member of Emory's second-place 400-yard freestyle relay and third-place 200- and 400-yard medley relays. The Eagles finished second in the meet behind Johns Hopkins, a national top-3 team. Last season Halstead was a two-time All-American.

(Nov. 3) Junior David Black of Emory University won two events in a dual meet against an NCAA Division I school. Black won the 100- and 200-yard breaststroke races against North Carolina-Wilmington. This is the second consecutive meet in which Black swept the breaststroke events. His time in the 200 breast of 2:10.53 is only .02 seconds behind his career-best time in a dual meet. Black was also a member of Emory's second-place 200-yard medley relay team. Last season Black qualified for the NCAA Division III national championships in the 100- and 200-yard breaststroke events.

(Oct. 20) Junior David Black of Emory University won the 200-yard breaststroke and was a member of the winning 400-yard medley relay, helping the Eagles to victory in their first dual meet of the season. Black's winning time of 2:10.51 in the breaststroke is the fastest time by any Emory swimmer in a dual meet in three years. Emory defeated Davidson, an NCAA Division I school, 151-81. Last season Black qualified for the NCAA Division III national championships in the 100- and 200-yard breaststroke events.
