(Mar. 2) Katie Bergfeld scored 27
points and grabbed 20 rebounds in the final two games of the
season. The junior put up a season-high 20 points against
Case Western Reserve University (Ohio) in the final game of
the season. This was the most points scored by an Emory player
in a season finale since February 2002. Bergfeld tied her
season high with 13 rebounds against Piedmont College (Ga.).
She led the Eagles in rebounding in each of their last seven
games. Bergfeld finishes the season as Emory's rebounding
leader and third on the team in scoring. She set personal
highs for most points, rebounds, assists, blocks and steals
in a season.
(Feb. 22) Katie Bergfeld led Emory
University with back-to-back double-digit scoring efforts
against two conference opponents on the road. This is the
first time in her career the junior has scored 10 or more
points in consecutive games. Bergfeld led the Eagles in rebounds
against Brandeis (Mass.), then ranked 15th in the nation by
d3hoops.com. She has led the Eagles in rebounding for five
games in a row, grabbing a total of 46 rebounds in that stretch.
(Feb. 14) Katie Anding led Emory
University in scoring against Washington University (Mo.),
ranked 13th in the nation by d3hoops.com. Anding put up a
team-high 13 points against Washington, her fourth double-digit
scoring effort of the season. She shot 86.7 percent from the
field while making three of her four attempts from three-point
range. Anding had four steals over the weekend. She is second
on the team in steals per game. The sophomore scored in the
double-digits against another nationally ranked opponent earlier
this season. Anding scored 11 points against Brandeis University
(Mass.) on Jan. 23, 2005, a team currently ranked 10th nationally
by d3hoops.com.
(Feb. 7) Katie Bergfeld led Emory
University to a 49-34 road victory over Carnegie Mellon with
a career-high 13 rebounds, the 16th highest total in school
history. She totaled 10 points over two Universtity Athletic
Association games played over the weekend. Bergfeld's Emory-leading
6.1 rebounds per game this season ranks her 11th in the UAA.
The junior has already set personal season-highs in scoring
and rebonding with six games left to play.
(Jan. 31) Beth Bergmann led Emory
University in scoring in each of its two wins last week, averaging
18 points over three games overall. She put up 24 points in
a win over Oglethorpe (Ga.) on five for eight shooting from
the field. Bergmann was 16 for 18 from the free throw line
last week, raising her free throw percentage to .871 on the
season. She was ranked 14th nationally in free throw percentage.
Bergmann has led or tied for the scoring lead in 10 of 17
games for Emory this season. She leads the team with an average
of 12.9 points per game.
(Jan. 24) Emory University's Beth
Bergmann averaged 20 points in two conference games last week,
both against teams ranked in the top 10 nationally. Bergmann
scored a team-high 16 points, going a perfect eight-for-eight
from the free throw line in an upset of Brandeis (Mass.),
then ranked No. 3 in the nation by D3hoops.com. She grabbed
a game-high 10 rebounds while dishing out a game-high six
assists. This was Bergmann's second "double double"
on the season and her sixth consecutive game scoring in double
digits. The sophomore guard added 24 points against New York,
ranked No. 10 in the nation. Bergmann shot seven of 15 from
the field and seven for eight at the free throw line in 39
minutes of play. It was her second consecutive 20-point game,
a first in her career.
(Jan. 17) Beth Bergmann recorded
season highs with 26 points and five steals against the 13th
ranked team in the nation last week. The sophomore converted
12 of 13 free throws, one shy of a school record for free
throws made in a game. Over three games last week, she scored
52 points along with 15 rebounds, seven assists and seven
steals. For the season, Bergmann leads the team in steals,
and is second on the team in points.
(Jan. 10) Katie Anding scored 12
points, one shy of her career high, in a road contest at Case
Western Reserve (Ohio). The sophomore guard was five of eight
from the field, including 2 of 3 from three-point range. She
added two rebounds and two steals in 32 minutes. Earlier this
season, Anding scored 13 points against LaGrange (Ga.).
(Jan. 3) MacKenzie Bisset of Emory
University scored a career-high 21 points against Dallas (Texas).
Bisset made six of nine field goal attempts, including five
of six from behind the three-point arc. She sank all four
free throws. The guard added four rebounds, one assist, no
turnover, and one steal in 23 minutes. Her previous high for
a single game was 16 points, achieved twice.
(Dec. 6) Lynn Oberschmidt scored
a career-high 24 points to help Emory University defeat Oglethorpe
University (Ga.) 85-84. Oberschmidt shot 9 of 11 from the
field, while grabbing seven boards. Her previous high was
23 points against LaGrange (Ga.) on Feb. 26, 2003. She has
scored in double digits in all five games this season. The
junior leads the team in scoring, rebounding, and field-goal
percentage.
(Nov. 29) Emory University's Mackenzie
Bisset scored a career-high 16 points and grabbed eight rebounds
to help the team to its first win of the season. Bisset lead
the team in scoring and minutes played (29) while tying for
the team lead with eight rebounds and three steals. She sank
seven of 12 field goal attempts. The junior's 16 points matched
her career high set Feb. 14, 2003, against Washington University
(Mo.). She missed all of last season with a foot injury.
(Nov. 22) Emory University's Lynn
Oberschmidt was named to the all-tournament team at the Johns
Hopkins (Md.) Tournament after scoring 30 points in two games.
Oberschmidt recorded a "double double" with 18 points
and 10 rebounds against Hendrix College (Ark.). This is the
third "double double" of her career. The junior
made 7 of 12 field goal attempts in 33 minutes in that game.
Oberschmidt tallied 12 points in the season opener, a loss
to Johns Hopkins, ranked 24th in the nation by D3hoops.com.
For the two games, Oberschmidt shot 59.1 percent from the
field. She already shares the school season record for field
goal percentage
