Ethan Solomon, Assistant Coach

Ethan Solomon joined the Emory baseball staff in August 2002. Prior to coaching at Emory, Solomon played for the Eagles from 1999-2002.

While at Emory, Solomon appeared in 52 games, including 10 starts, for the Eagles.  For his career he totaled 7 wins and his 10 saves place him third on the Emory career saves list. He has appeared in the Division III College World Series three times, as a player in 2000 and as an assistant coach in 2003 and 2007.

Solomon serves as the team’s pitching coach and recruiting coordinator.  During Solomon’s coaching career, the Eagles have posted a 180-56 record, while winning two regional championships in four appearances and three UAA conference titles.  Solomon has recruited and coached four All-Americans, 11 All-Region selections, and 19 All-Conference players, two of which are playing professional baseball in the Oakland Athletics and Boston Red Sox organizations.

Solomon has coached the Eagles to two national top-10 finishes in earned run average, including a 2.58 ERA in 2006 and a 2.96 ERA in 2004, good for fifth and eighth in the nation, respectively. He helped the Eagles finish fourth in the nation with 8.5 strikeouts per nine innings in 2006. Under his leadership, the Emory pitching staff has compiled a team ERA of 3.53.

Solomon graduated from Emory in 2002 and recently completed a graduate degree in sports administration from Georgia State University. He currently resides in Atlanta with his wife Michelle.
