Steve Lewis, Strength & Conditioning Coach

Emory's Strength & Conditioning Coach is Steve Lewis, who joined the staff in 2003 after four years in a similar position at Central College (Iowa) and additional experience at the University of Tennessee and Western Michigan University.

Lewis was the strength and conditioning coach, fitness center director, and, exercise science instructor at Central. During his time at Central, the school won three NCAA Division III national team titles--volleyball (1999, 2000), softball (2003)--and fielded three individual and one relay national champions in track and field, and had seven teams finish in the top 30 at their respective national championships.

In 2002, Lewis was the Michigan state weightlifting champion in the 94-kg class. Lewis also qualified and competed in the North American Strongman National Championships in 2002.

He earned a B.S. in exercise physiology/fitness from the University of Tennessee (1995) and an M.A. in physical education with an emphasis in exercise science from Western Michigan University (1998).
