Laura LeDuc, Assistant Coach
Laura LeDuc, a former Emory soccer player,
returned to her alma mater for 2003 and 2004 as an assistant coach. She came
to Emory from Agnes Scott College (Ga.), where she was the assistant
athletics director, NCAA compliance coordinator, and head soccer
coach.
In five years, her soccer teams compiled
a 41-39-3 record. In 2002, she was recognized as the women's soccer
"Coach of the Year" in the Great South Athletic Conference.
In addition to coaching the soccer team, LeDuc served as the school's
head basketball coach (1998–2001) and assistant swim coach
(2001–03).
Her working partnership with Emory Head
Coach Michael Sabatelle was not their first. From 1997-2000, LeDuc
served as general manager of Sabatelle's Atlanta Classics, a W-League
franchise. She was the game day production coordinator and stadium
announcer for the WUSA's Atlanta Beat during its first three years.
LeDuc has also served as an assistant swim
coach at St. Francis College (N.Y.), Carnegie Mellon University
(Pa.) and Pepperdine University (Calif.).
An Emory alumna (B.A., music [voice], 1990),
LeDuc competed in three sports (soccer, swimming, and track and
field) and was awarded the school's Bridges Trophy as the best all-around
female athlete.
She holds a law degree from the University
of Pittsburgh School of Law and is licensed to practice law in Georgia.
LeDuc and her husband, Chris Moyer, live in Decatur, Ga., with their
son, Conrad.
