After my 6:30 a.m. wake up call from Lauren
Haag asking me to take her to see Dr. X, I decided to sit down and
recap the exciting events of this past week. Most importantly, we
are headed to Roanoke for regionals!!
The team is more than ready to compete
in Roanoke. We refer to Roanoke as our second home after spending
several wonderful days awaiting the rain to ease up during last
year's World Series, and after competing there in the Bridgewater
Classic earlier this season.
This past Sunday evening, the team stuck
with tradition and awaited "the call" from the selection
committee at the Atlanta Diner. It was my first time joining the
study crew for some bad food, bad service, and great company.
Those of us who are either done with finals
or needed a study break, wasted the time away with some mean games
of Jenga. Contrary to my initial belief, the table was a little
wobbly making the game that much more intense. I think I managed
to knock down the tower every time.
It has been a hectic weak of rain showers
and test taking in Atlanta. Even though the rain gods are taunting
us with several days worth of scattered showers, we have managed
to keep up a full practice schedule. It may seem like a tough task
during finals, but practice serves as a great stress reliever.
We all feel the excitement. We know we
are a great team. We welcome being labeled as an "underdog,"
and we are ready to dono-nate (dominate auf dono) in the postseason!!!
