December 8, 2003

We have always dreamt about and strived for the "Final Four," but it always seemed so far away. After this season, we realize that getting there is definitely possible.

Our goal for the weekend was to leave California as the national champion, but unfortunately that dream ended in the semifinal match last Friday night. Chalk it up to nerves or us being an extremely young team, either way, we were extremely disappointed.

I think a tiny part of all of us was honored and so proud to just go to the final four. The other 99 percent of us, however, wanted nothing more than to win. So while, we are all tremendously grateful for the opportunities and experiences of this past season, we are also left with the disappointment which will hopefully carry us through this spring and next season to make it back to the final four and come out as No. 1.

Despite, our fourth-place finish, the weekend was filled with lots of laughs. Whether we were playing, eating, or go-kart racing, we were definitely enjoying the last moments this team would share together.

Our weekend ended with a team dinner at the Damasco's home. The house was packed with our friends, family, and a whole lot of food. There was also a nice, cold swimming pool in the backyard in which myself, Monica, Lauren and our coach Amanda were thrown into for the amusement of the party.

And to that, I think Amanda and the other captains join me in saying to the rest of team: Beware! We will get you back!
