April 4, 2005
So far the season has been successful.
We have won our last 10 matches and are getting better every
day. From the No. 1 spot to the 12 spot, we are all grinding,
working hard both on and off the court, and staying in exemplary
shape.
We won the indoor nationals again
this year, defeating Santa Cruz in the finals 5-2. Mark Odgers
lost just seven games in three matches throughout the tournament.
Josh Rubens won 6-0, 6-0 in the finals to clinch, again.
We went to Hawaii for spring break
and won all three of our matches, two of which were against
tough NCAA Division II schools.
The next weekend we won two more
matches. Against DePauw, Alex Jacobs staged a valiant comeback,
after being down 5-3 in the third, 30-Love, and cramping,
to win the decisive set 7-5.
Thursday we play Shorter, and then
we are off to California for two big matches against Santa
Cruz and University of San Francisco. We will update you on
our matches as soon as we can.
