(Dec. 6) - The Emory men’s basketball team used a smothering defensive effort Wednesday evening as it recorded a 91-62 win over the University of the South in a game played at the Woodruff PE Center on the Emory campus. The Eagles upped their record to 5-2 with the victory.
(Dec. 5) -- Emory University senior guard Adrian Sosa (Pembroke Pines, FL) has been selected by the University Athletic Association as Basketball Co-Player of the Week following his performance in helping the Eagles to a pair of wins in three outings.

(Nov. 22) - The Emory University men’s basketball team makes its 2006-07 home debut this Saturday and Sunday (Nov. 25-26) when it hosts the Emory Classic. Maryville College and Oglethorpe will play at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday and will be followed by the Emory vs. LaGrange College contest at 3:00 p.m. On Sunday, LaGrange and Oglethorpe will square off at 1:00 p.m., while Emory and Maryville will battle at 3:00 p.m.
EMORY MEN’S BASKETBALL DROPS SEASON OPENER AT MERCER
(Nov. 18) - The Emory men’s basketball team opened its 2006-07 campaign by battling Division I foe Mercer University on even terms for about 30 minutes Saturday evening before falling to the host Bears, 89-71.
(Nov. 16) -- The Emory University men’s basketball team begins the program’s 21st season of intercollegiate play on Saturday (Nov. 18) when it opens the 2006-07 season at Division I foe Mercer University. The University Center on the Mercer campus will be the site of the first-ever meeting between the two schools and tipoff is slated for 7:00 p.m.
(Nov. 7) -- With the 2006-07 Emory men’s basketball team in its fourth week of practice, Head Coach Brett Zuver has been pleased by what he has seen so far. The team hit the hardwood on October 15 and has impressed the Eagles mentor in a number of areas.
Q & A WITH COACH BRETT ZUVER
(Oct. 17) -- Emory University men’s basketball coach Brett Zuver is entering his ninth season at the helm of the Eagles’ program. Recently, he sat down and answered some questions for the www.go.emory.edu web site
(Mar. 3) - Playing in his final collegiate game, senior Spiros Ferderigos led the Eagles in scoring with 29 points while contributing five assists and four steals in a 96-93 loss to Case Western.
Spiros scored 23 second-half points en route to his 22nd double-figure scoring game of the year and ninth of 20 or more points. He hit a season-high 11-of-17 from the floor and five-of-six from the foul line. He closed out the season by leading the squad in scoring with an 18.1 points per game average and his 453 points rank fifth on the school’s all-time seasonal ladder. Career-wise, he finished with 1,630 points, good for the No. 2 spot on Emory’s career ladder. In addition, his four steals in the Case Western game, enabled him to move into the No. 1 spot on the school’s ladder in that category with 201. He recorded 51 thefts during the campaign, tying for seventh on Emory’s seasonal listing.
Anthony Fernandez is a sophomore at Emory University and in his second season as a member of the basketball program.
Anthony has enjoyed a solid 2007-08 season, starting 20 of 21 games and averaging 13.8 points (No. 9 among UAA players) and a team-high tying 6.5 rebounds per game. Through games played Feb. 17, he had produced 16 contests of double-figure scoring and three efforts of 20 or more points. He has been the team's top point getter in three games, including a career-high 24 points against Chicago (Feb. 15), while ranking as the squad's top board man on eight occasions. Fernandez has notched three double-doubles this year and has three outings of a season-high 12 rebounds.
As a freshman, he saw action in 10 games before an injury sidelined him for the year.
Anthony attended Belen Jesuit Prep where he closed out his career as the school's all-time leading scorer.
