Name: Sabra Rogers
Favorite Food: Boiled peanuts...gotta love living down south even though no one at Emory has heard of them...
Favorite Movie: Pirates of the Caribbean
Favorite Television Show: LOST...without a doubt
Favorite Musical Artist: I like everything...there's way too much to choose from
A word to describe me on the court: Focused
A word to describe me off the court: Laid-back
My most memorable athletic moment was: Being down 6-1, 5-0, and coming back to win...my mother still brings that up as one of the most stressful matches she has watched me play
My most memorable Emory athletic moment: Our first team road trip
What I like most about Emory: It's in the South!
I would like to switch places for the day with: Jimmy Buffett so I could live in Key West for a day
My favorite place on the Emory campus: My bed...or on the extremely comfortable couch in the tennis locker room
Favorite pro athlete: Rafter, Sampras, Graf, Davenport...I liked a bunch of them
The sports teams I followed when I was younger: All I watched was tennis… haha
If I could play in any tennis competition it would be: Wimbledon of course
If I could play a singles match against anybody, it would be: Justin Henin-Hardenne...because she's just amazing
My favorite class at Emory and why: So far it has been my freshman seminar...it's what convinced me to go pre-med
The people who have helped me most at Emory are and why: The girls on the team and my friend Hannah who lives down the hall because we all became friends right when we got to school and it just made the transition to college that much easier having them here
Any pre-match rituals: I usually make sure I'm singing a song in my head when I go out on court
The sport I would be playing if I wasn’t playing tennis: I don't even know… I've never played anything but tennis
If I could have dinner with only three people in history, they would be: My grandmother, Walt Disney, Johnny Depp dressed as a pirate
The best advice I have ever been given and who gave it to you: “It doesn't matter what you do in life as long as you're sure you'll wake up the next morning and be ok with it”
- From my tennis coach back home, Fritz
What is something that very few, if any, people know about you: Well there is probably a reason not many people know about it now isn't there?
Sabra is a freshman from Charleston, SC. She would love to answer e-mail
questions from Emory recruits and fans.
