The Spinners begin their 76-game schedule (in 79 days) June

100-year absence. Twin brothers and pitchers Scott and Jeff
Kramer were both drafted in 1994, Scott in the 13th round
by the Cleveland Indians and Jeff in the 30th round by the
Milwaukee Brewers. Neither made it to the major leagues.

Carr become the ninth and 10th All-Americans, all since 1993,
in school history.
Pinckney becomes the third Emory
player and the first position player ever honored as a first-team
All-American. The previous two honorees were pitchers Scott
Kramer in 1994 and Ryan Donegan in 2001.
Carr is the third Eagle pitcher voted
to the All-America team. [A fourth Emory pitcher, Mike Garvis,
was voted to the All-America team as a utility player in 1997
when he was a pitcher and outfielder.]
Pinckney batted .415, his second
consecutive .400 season. The junior could become the first
Emory player ever with three .400 seasons.
Carr set a school record with 13
wins (against no losses) while compiling a 3.44 earned run
average.
Previously, both players were voted
to the all-region first team. Carr was recognized as regional

average. Pinckney batted .415, his second consecutive .400

in the NCAA Division III national tournament, placing third
in the regional championship. The Eagles finished the season
with a school-record 42 wins, shattering the previous mark
of 37 in 2003.

In a matchup of unbeatens, Emory

nation and second in the regionals. That pushed Emory into
the playback bracket where it lost to Methodist (N.C.), ranked
29th in the nation and fifth in the regionals.
Of the top eight ranked teams in
the nation, three reached the World Series this year. In 2001,
Emory was ranked No. 1 in the nation, but eliminated in the
NCAA regionals by Salisbury.
Named to the NCAA regionals all-tournament
team were third baseman Andrew Pinckney and outfielder Bryan
Langbord. Pinckney batted .421 (8-for-19) in the tournament.
Langbord, who hit .412 (7-for-17) in the regionals, was 7-for-13
before going hitless in the last game which ended his 29-game
hitting streak.
This is the seventh time in nine
years that Emory was selected for the NCAA tournament. This
is the seventh time in eight years that it won 30 or more
games.
Emory is now third among all Division
III schools for most wins in this decade (2000-present).
(May 17) Emory University has been
selected for the NCAA Division III national tournament for
