(June 3) Drew Harbur and Blake Staub have been named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District first team for cross country/track and field. Both will have their names placed on the national ballot for the Academic All-America team to be announced in late June.

Harbur and Staub were among the 10 student-athletes selected to the first team. This is the first time that either has made the Academic All-District first team.

Harbur, a sophomore, had a 3.82 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) as an English/Creative Writing major. The thrower finished third in the javelin event at the conference outdoor track championships this year. He holds five of the top 20 javelin throws in school history.

Staub, a senior, had a 3.54 cumulative GPA as a biology major. The sprinter won the conference outdoor championship in the 100-meter dash this spring. He earned All-America honors as a member of Emory's 4x100 relay unit last spring. Staub graduates as a 12-time all-conference performer.

This is the ninth consecutive year that an Emory student-athlete has been honored on the Academic All-District team for men's cross country or track and field. Emory has 19 honorees in those nine years.

Voting for the Academic All-District team is conducted by the members of the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) in the states of Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia. To be eligible, a nominee must be at least a sophomore with a 3.2 GPA and a starter or key reserve on their team. Emory nominees are placed in the "college division" category, which is composed of all NCAA Division II and III and NAIA schools.

(May 28) Rob Leventhal concluded his first-ever individual appearance at the NCAA Division III national outdoor track & field championships.

Leventhal, a sophomore, finished 14th out of 16 competitors in the 800-meter run. He ran a time of one minute and 54.75 seconds, his sixth fastest of the season. Leventhal recorded the team's top nine times in the event this season.

This is the eighth time in 12 years that an Emory athlete has competed at the NCAA outdoor championships in the 800 run.

(May 24) Rob Leventhal has been selected to compete at the NCAA Division III national outdoor track and field championships this weekend in Waverly, Iowa.

Leventhal qualified in the 800-meter run which conducts its preliminaries Friday and its finals Saturday. He has the 14th fastest time among the entrants with a season-best time of one minute and 52.48 seconds.

This is the first time Leventhal has been selected for the NCAA championships. He narrowly missed selection to the NCAA indoor championships this spring by three-hundreths of a second in the 800-meter run.

(May 14) Rob Leventhal's performance was the Emory highlight at the Georgia Tech Invitational.

For the fourth time this season, Leventhal provisionally qualified for the NCAA national championships in the 800-meter run. This time he did it with a career-best time of one minute and 52.48 seconds. That is the 10th-fastest time in the nation in Division III this season and the 11th fastest in school history. Leventhal finished 28th out of 72 runners while representing the only Division III school in the race. Teammate John Devlin was timed at 2:00.08.

The other Emory entrant was Andrew Seidenberg, who competed in the 100-meter dash (11.21 seconds) and 400-meter dash (51.22).

(May 7) Emory University competed at the Clemson Meet against mostly Division I schools.

Rob Leventhal finished third out of 15 runners in the 800-meter run with a time of 1 minute and 52.82 seconds. This is his third NCAA national meet provisional qualifying time this season. Teammate John Devlin had a career-best time of 2:01.17 in the 800-meter run.

Andrew Seidenberg ran in two events, finishing with a time of 11.25 seconds in the 100-meter dash and a time of 22.48 seconds in the 200-meter dash.

(April 24) Emory University finished fifth out of seven teams at the University Athletic Association outdoor championships. The Eagles won two events and had five all-conference performances (top-three finish).

Blake Staub won the 100-meter dash with a season-best time of 11.01 seconds. This is his second career all-conference honor in the event. He finished second in the 100-meter dash in 2003. This is the third time in the past four years an Eagle runner has won this event.

Andrew Seidenberg finished second in the 100-meter dash with a career-best time of 11.06 seconds. This time makes him the 10th-fastest individual performer in school history in the event. Seidenberg also finished second in the 200-meter dash with a career-best time of 22.00 seconds. He is now the fifth-fastest individual performer in Emory history in the event.

Drew Harbur finished third in the javelin throw with a career-best throw of 49.74 meters (163 feet, 2 inches). He is now the fourth-best individual performer in school history in the event.

The 4x100-meter relay team of Staub, Seidenberg, Brian Platt, and Jeffrey Morlend finished first with a time of 43.08 seconds. This is the third consecutive year the Eagles have won this event and the fourth consecutive year Staub has earned all-conference honors in the event.

(April 16) Emory University competed at the Clemson Classic in its final tune-up before the conference championships.

In sprints, Blake Staub ran a season-best time of 11.03 seconds in the 100-meter dash, finishing 10th out of 21 runners. Andrew Seidenberg finished 11th in the event with a career-best time of 11.07 seconds. These are the two fastest times in the conference in this event this season.

In distance events, Rob Leventhal finished second out of 18 runners in the 800-meter run with a career-best time of 1:52.71. This time provisionally qualifies him for the NCAA national meet.

The 4x400-meter relay team of Seidenberg, David Simms, Naoki Murai, and Leventhal finished third out of six teams with a season-best time of 3:26.84.

The Eagles travel to St. Louis for the conference championships April 23-24.

(April 9) Emory University competed at the Duke Invitational and the Oglethorpe Invitational.

At the Duke Invitational, Rob Leventhal provisionally qualified for the NCAA national meet in the 800-meter run. He finished second out of 130 runners with a season-best time of 1 minute and 53.54 seconds. This is the fourth-fastest time in the nation in this event this season.

Kile Krol ran a career-best time of 4:00.54 in the 1500-meter run, finishing 15th out of 88 runners. This is the second-fastest time in the South region in this event this season, according to southregionrunning.com.

Andrew Podgurski finished 20th out of 43 runners in the 3000-meter steeplechase with a career-best time of 9:36.57. This is the ninth-fastest time in school history in this event and the second-fastest time in the South region this season.

Emory finished first out of five teams at the Oglethorpe Invitational, beating the second place team by more than 45 points. The Eagles won five out of 13 events at the meet.

In distance events, John Devlin finished first out of nine runners in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:01.75.

In field events, John Wofford won the pole vault with a season-best vault of 3.95 meters (12 feet, 11.5 inches). Stan Tolkachjov won the shot put with a throw of 11.75 meters (38 feet, 6.5 inches).

The 4x400-meter relay team of David Simms, Ryan Kindermann, Jake Wheeler, and Naoki Murai finished first with a time of 3:38.65. The sprint medley team of Jim LePorte, William Callahan, Michael Maida, and Simms won with a time of 1:37.97.

(April 2) Emory University finished 12th out of 18 teams at the Emory Classic. The Eagles had six top-seven performances at the meet.

Rob Leventhal finished second out of 61 runners in the 800-meter run with a time of 1 minute and 56.84 seconds.

Other top distance performances included Owen Farcy, who finished sixth out of 42 runners in the 1500-meter run with a time of 4:13.20 and Kile Krol, who finished seventh in the 1500-meter run with a time of 4:14.86.

In field events, Jordan Knight finished fifth out of 12 athletes in the pole vole with a season-best vault of 3.95 meters (12 feet, 11.50 inches).

Drew Harbur finished in the top seven in two throwing events. He finished fifth out of 18 participants in the hammer throw with a throw of 40.48 meters (132 feet, 10 inches) and seventh out of 24 athletes in the javelin throw with a throw of 48.25 meters (158 feet, 4 inches). Both of these throws were career bests.

Emory returns to action April 9 at the UNC-Charlotte Invitational and the Duke Invitational.

(March 26) Emory University opened the outdoor track season, finishing sixth out of 15 teams at the Emory Invitational. The Eagles had eight top-five finishes at the meet.

In sprints, Andrew Seidenberg finished fifth in both the 100-meter dash and 200-meter dash. His times of 11.10 and 22.26 seconds, respectively, were both career bests.

In distance events, Rob Leventhal finished fourth out of 48 runners in the 800-meter run with a time of one minute and 54.13 seconds. Last year, Leventhal won the 800-meter run at the University Athletic Association outdoor championships.

In the 1500-meter run, Owen Farcy finished fifth out of 28 runners with a time of 4:05.24. Bryan Forsyth finished fifth out of 14 runners in the 5000-meter run with a time of 16:09.00. In the 3000-meter steeplechase, Andrew Podgurski finished fourth out of 11 runners with a time of 10:00.92.

Stan Tolkachjov finished fourth out of 19 throwers in the shot put with a throw of 12.80 meters (42 feet even). This is his career-best throw by more than four feet.

The 400-meter relay team of Blake Staub, Seidenberg, Brian Platt, and Jeffrey Morlend finished second out of nine teams with a time of 42.50 seconds. This time is just 0.50 seconds from the provisional qualifying mark for the NCAA national meet.

The Eagles return to action April 1-2 for the Emory Classic.

(Feb. 26) Emory University finished sixth out of seven teams at the University Athletic Association indoor championships. The Eagles had three all-conference (top-three finish) performances.

Rob Leventhal won the 800-meter run with a career-best time of one minute and 53.74 seconds. This is the third-fastest time in school history in this event. This time provisionally qualifies him for the NCAA national meet. Leventhal's time is the 12th-fastest in the nation this season. Eagle runners have won this event nine times since 1993.

Blake Staub finished third in both the 55-meter dash and the 200-meter dash with times of 6.74 seconds and 22.91 seconds, respectively. This is the third consecutive year Staub has finished in the top four in both of these events at the conference championships.

Andrew Seidenberg finished fourth in the 400-meter dash with a career-best time of 50.63 seconds. This is the fastest Emory time in this event since 2003 and just the second time less than 51 seconds since 1996.

John Wofford finished fourth in the pole vault with a season-best jump of 4.05 meters (13 feet, 3.50 inches).

The distance medley relay team of Kile Krol, Naoki Murai, Leventhal, and Owen Farcy finished fourth with a time of 10:16.68. This is the fastest time in school history in this event.

Leventhal awaits official selection for the NCAA national meet to be held March 11-12 in Bloomington, IL. The official announcement of participants will be held March 7.

(Feb. 18) Emory University competed in the Tennessee Invitational and the Ohio University Invitational.

At the Tennessee Invitational, Ryan Kindermann finished fourth out of 12 runners in the 400-meter dash with a season-best time of 55.19 seconds.

At the Ohio Northern Invitational, Emory finished sixth out of seven teams.

Rob Leventhal finished first out of 12 runners in the 800-meter run with a career-best time of 1 minute and 56.06 seconds. This is his third 800-meter run victory this season. He is the first Eagle runner since 1996 to have at least three sub-1:57 performances in the 800-meter run in one season.

Yusef Mosley finished third out of nine runners in the 400-meter dash with a season-best time of 53.94 seconds.

The Eagles return to action for the conference championships on February 25-26.

(Feb. 16) The Emory University men's and women's track teams donated all of the proceeds from the team's recent Fund Run to children devastated by the tsunami. The teams raised $3,850 for UNICEF.

(Feb. 12) Emory University competed at the Christopher Newport Invitational.

In sprints, Blake Staub finished 12th out of 25 runners in the 60-meter dash preliminaries with a career-best time of 7.23 seconds.

In distance events, Rob Leventhal finished first out of 14 runners in the 800-meter run with a time of 1 minute and 56.74 seconds.

In relays, the distance medley relay team of Kile Krol, Yusef Mosley, Leventhal, and Owen Farcy finished second out of six teams with a time of 10:31.95. This is the second-best time in indoor school history.

(Feb. 5) Emory University competed in the North Carolina Invitational and the University of the South Invitational.

At the North Carolina Invitational, the distance medley relay team of Kile Krol, Andrew Seidenberg, Rob Leventhal, and Owen Farcy ran a time of 10 minutes and 40.02 seconds. This is the third-fastest indoor time in school history in this event.

Individual top performances included Rob Leventhal, who finished fifth out of 25 runners in the 800-meter run with a time of 1:57.27 and Owen Farcy, who ran a season best time of 4:30.54 in the one mile run.

At the University of the South Invitational, the Eagles finished fourth out of nine teams.

Career-best performances included Brian Platt, who finished 10th out of 28 runners in the 55-meter dash with a career-best time of 6.90 seconds, and William Callahan who had a career-best jump of 11.18 meters in the triple jump.

(Jan. 22) Emory University ran its second meet of the indoor season at the East Tennessee State Invitational.

Rob Leventhal won the unseeded 800-meter run, finishing first out of 55 runners with a career-best time of 1 minute and 56.22 seconds.

Other career-best times included Blake Staub with a time of 7.26 seconds in the 60-meter dash and Andrew Seidenberg with times of 23.18 seconds in the 200-meter dash and 51.83 seconds in the 400-meter dash.

The Eagles return to action January 30 at the Tennessee State Invitational.

(Dec. 3) Emory University opened its indoor season at the Clemson Early Bird meet. The meet featured mostly NCAA Division I competitors.

Anthony Caponiti finished fourth out of 22 runners in the 800-meter run with a career-best time of 1 minute and 59.86 seconds.

Blake Staub ran a career-best time of 7.27 seconds in the 60-meter dash. Andrew Seidenberg had a career-best time of 23.62 seconds in the 200-meter dash.

The Eagles return to action January 22 at the East Tennessee State Invitational.
