(Nov. 19) EMORY FINISHES 11TH AT NCAA CHAMPIONSHIPS
The 16th-ranked Emory Eagles women's cross country team finished 11th at the NCAA Championships with 309 points. This marked the highest finish for the Eagles since claiming seventh in 1997.

Junior Amy DiBianca finished 24th to lead the blue and gold after crossing the finish line in a time of 23:13.2. Senior Kate Bowman, running in her last meet as an Eagle, finished five back of DiBianca in 29th with a time of 23:15.3

Junior Caroline Hagedorn and sophomore Lauren Shores finished 35th and 89th, respectively. Hagedorn finished in a time of 23:30.7, while Shores was at 24:23.8.

Rounding out the top five Emory competitors was junior Katie Parafinczuk in a time of 24:52.5.

Freshmen Melissa Jones and Rebecca Willett also competed for Emory. Jones finished 141st in a time of 25:01.6, while Willett finished 166th at 27:09.3.

SUNY Geneseo won the national championship with 88 points, while Julia Rudd of Wisconsin La Crosse was the individual national champion.

(Nov. 12) EAGLES ADVANCE TO NCAA FINALS WITH SOUTH REGION VICTORY
The 16th-ranked Emory women's cross country team finished first at the NCAA South Regional to advance to the NCAA Finals, Nov. 19 in Delaware, Ohio. The Eagles finished the meet with 26 points and an average time of 22:33.3.

Leading the way for the blue and gold was junior Amy DiBianca in second place with a time of 22:18.9. Senior Kate Bowman finished one place back of DiBianca in third with a time of 22:19.6.

Junior Carolina Hagedorn and sophomore Lauren Shores finished fifth and sixth, respectively. Hagedorn crossed the finish line at 22:29.3, while Shores finished at 22:36.0. Junior Katie Parafinczuk rounded out the top five Emory contingent in 10th with a time of 23:02.2.

Freshmen Melissa Jones and Rebecca Willett also competed with Jones finishing 18th at 23:30.6 and Willett completing the meet in 66th at 25:27.2

Emory dominated the meet, with second-place Trinity University finishing 85 points back with 111. The Eagles will be making their 16th appearance in the finals and first since 2003.

(Nov. 1) EMORY JUMPS TO 16TH IN NATIONAL RANKINGS
The Emory women's cross country team jumped from 23rd to 16th in the latest national rankings released November 1. The rise came after the second place finish for the Eagles at the UAA Championships. This is the team's highest ranking this season.

Emory is the only ranked team in the South/Southeast region. The team will compete at the South/Southeast Regionals Nov. 12 in Conway, Ark. The Eagles have won 13 of the last 14 regional titles. The regional winner automatically qualifies for the NCAA National Championships.

(Oct. 29) EMORY FINISHES SECOND AT UAA CHAMPIONSHIPS
The 23rd ranked Emory women's cross country team finished second out of eight teams at the UAA Championships with a total of 72 points. The Eagles lost only Washington University (Mo.), the fourth-ranked team in the country, and beat the University of Chicago (Ill.), the fourteenth-ranked team in the nation. Emory has now finished in the top three at the conference meet for fifteen consecutive seasons.

The team was led by junior Amy DiBianca who finished fifth out of 78 runners with a time of 22:42.7 on the 6000-meter course. DiBianca earned All-UAA honors for the third consecutive year and received first team honors for the second time.

Junior Caroline Hagedorn finished second for the Eagles and eighth overall with a time of 22:55.2. Hagedorn earned All-UAA honors for the third consecutive year. She was followed by sophomore Lauren Shores in 11th place with a time of 23:05.40, earning her All-UAA second team honors for the second straight year.

Rounding out the top five for the Eagles were senior Kate Bowman in 21st place with a time of 23:27.8 and junior Katie Parafinczuk finishing in 28th place with a time of 23:44.8.

The Eagles will take a week off before running in the NCAA South/Southeast Regionals in Conway, Ark., Saturday, Nov. 12. The team has won 13 of the last 14 NCAA regional titles.

(Oct. 15) WOMEN'S CROSS COUNTRY WINS GEORGIA STATE INVITATIONAL
The 23rd-ranked Emory women’s cross country team won its second meet of the season on Saturday at the Georgia State Invitational. Sophomore Lauren Shores finished in the top 10 for the third time this year in fourth with a time of 22:38.87.

Finishing one spot back of Shores was Junior Amy DiBianca with a time of 22:42.42, while fellow junior Caroline Hagedorn was fifth after crossing the finish line in a time of 23:00.27.

Senior Kate Bowman crossed the finish line in seventh with a time of 23:36.93, while junior Katie Parafinczuk was eighth at 23:57.99 to round out Emory's scorers.

The Eagles now turn their attention to the UAA Championships, Saturday, Oct. 29 in Pittsburgh, Pa. Last season Emory finished second before advancing to the NCAA Regionals.

(Oct. 8) EMORY FINISHES NINTH AT AUBURN INVITATIONAL
The 25th-ranked Emory women's cross country team claimed ninth-place honors at the Auburn Invitational. The Eagles finished with 143 points in the 23-team race that featured mainly Division I teams.

Leading the way for EU was sophomore Lauren Shores with a time of 17:57.72 to finish 29th for 26 points. Next was junior Caroline Hagedorn in 33rd with an 18:02.45 time. Crossing the finish line in 35th-place was junior Amy DiBianca in a time of 18:04.15

Freshman Melissa Jones was fourth in the Emory contingent in 74th after finishing in a time of 18:47.74. Rounding out the Eagle contingent who scored in the meet was senior Kate Bowman in 93rd with a 19:02.79, junior Katie Parafinczuk in 126th with a 19:26.83 and freshman Rebecca Willett in 173rd with a 20:32.42.

The Eagles return to action Saturday, Oct. 15 at the Georgia State Invitational in Atlanta.

(Oct. 1) EU TAKES 15TH AT GEORGIA COLLEGIATE
The Emory women’s cross country team took part in the Georgia Collegiate in Macon, Ga., finishing 15th with 396 points.

Leading the way for EU was Katie Parafinczuk in 39th with a time of 19:59. Next for Emory was Asha Natajaran in 80th with a 21:18.

Andrea Cover and Katheryn McElheny crossed the finish line next in 100th and 107th, respectively. Cover finished in a time of 22:12, while McElheny was at 22:23.

Rounding out the Eagle competitors were Tayla Bryce and Laura Ruseiki. Bryce finished at 23:12 for 118th place and Bryce finished in 162nd.

Emory returns to action, Saturday, Oct. 8 in Auburn, Ala., for the Auburn Invitational.

(Sept. 24) EAGLES FINISH SEVENTH AT GREAT AMERICAN CROSS COUNTRY RACE
The Emory women's cross country team finished seventh at the Great American Cross Country Festival Saturday in Cary, N.C. The race was held at SAS Soccer Park. As a team, EU finished with a time of 1:39:02.80.

Leading the way for the Eagles once again was sophomore Lauren Shores in a time of 18:39.60, finishing 14th. Amy DiBianca was next for the blue and gold in 20th with a time of 18:53.30 and following her in 23rd place with a time of 18:56.20 was Caroline Hagedorn. Kate Bowman turned in a time of 19:41.40 to finished 49th, while Melissa Jones finished 56th at 19:52.30.

Rounding out the scorers for the Eagles were Rebecca Willett in 74th and Natalie Waryck in 75. Willett finished at 20:53.40 and Waryck 20:53.90.

The race featured teams from across the country from all three NCAA divisions. Up next for Emory is a trip to Auburn, Ala., for the Auburn Invitational on Oct. 8.
