Emory’s top freshman pitcher,
Kaufman was 4-0 in 17 games, five of them starts, and compiled
a 2.82 ERA. Over 44.2 innings, he did not allow a home run.
Kaufman earned the win in Emory’s second game of the
year, throwing six innings of relief in a 15-inning, 4-3 victory
over Washington & Lee (Va.) Feb. 18. He struck out a career-high
six batters over seven innings and picked up the win in a
10-5 victory over Savannah College of Art and Design (Ga.)
March 14.
