Junior (2007):
Hissey played in all 53 games and made 49 starts for the Eagles during the season. He finished with a .345 batting average, and tied for the team lead with 51 runs scored. He led the team with 29 stolen bases (the fourth-best single-season total in school history), and his .55 stolen bases per game was the 69th-best ratio in Division III baseball in 2007. Hissey finished third on the team with a .434 on base percentage, walking 21 times during the year (the second-best on the team) and getting hit by 13 pitches (the second-highest total in school history). His biggest hit of the season came against Cortland State (N.Y.) in the Division III Championship Tournament, when he hit a go-ahead three run home run, his only round-tripper of the season. Hissey led the team with 14 runs scored in the Eagles’ 11 postseason games. On April 21st against Maryville College (Tenn.), he tied Emory single-game records with eight at bats and five hits during a 12-7 win. Hissey finished the year third on the team with 21 multiple hit games. He ends his junior season eighth in school history in both career batting average (.363) and stolen bases (53).
Sophomore (2006):
Hissey was named the 2006 UAA Player of the Year for his performance at the UAA Championships where he helped guide the Eagles to the conference title. Hissey finished the year batting .391 with 52 hits. He also scored 39 runs and recorded 22 RBI. For the year he led the team in stolen bases with 24 on 26 attempts. In the team’s season opening series against Maryville College (Tenn.), Hissey collected four stolen bases in the team’s second game. On March 4 against Maryville College, Hissey finished 4-4, while scoring four runs and collecting three RBI. In a double-header versus the University of the South (Tenn.) he finished a combined 2-5 that included scoring three runs and a homerun.

Prior to Emory:
Transferred from Rollins College in Winer Park, Fla. after playing one season on the baseball team... Attended Unionville High School, where he competed on the baseball team for four seasons... Served as the captain during his senior season... Was a all-League first team player in 2002, 2003 and 2004... hit .492 with three homeruns in 2002, .476 with three homeruns in 2003, and .400 while stealing 18 bases in 2004... Coached by George DeDonato... Also competed on the football team in high school, where he was an all-League quarterback.
Personal:
Born on November 9, 1985... His younger brother, Peter, has committed to play baseball at the University of Virginia in the Fall of 2008, and is considered to be a potential draft pick out of high school.
