Freshman (2007):

Gumm was one of the most impactful freshmen for Emory in 2007.  He pitched in 19 games out of the bullpen, the second most out of any of the Eagles’ relief pitchers.  Gumm went 3-0 during the season with a 2.81 earned run average and 12 strikeouts over 25.2 innings.  During the NCAA Division III National Championship Tournament, Gumm pitched 5.1 innings, giving up two runs on five hits in two starts, and earned the win against the University of Wisconsin Stevens Point, allowing the Eagles to advance to the National Championship game.  He earned a victory in his first career outing, pitching three scoreless inning of relief against York College (Pa.).

Prior to Emory:

Attended Pendleton High School where he played on the baseball team for four seasons... Recorded a 3.18 earned run average with 15 strikeouts and two shutouts during the 2005 season... Hit .321 with four homeruns and 14 runs batted in during the 2006 season... Named to the "Who's Who Among High School Student Athletes" list from 2004-2006... Coached by Mark Morawksi... Also played basketball and football in high school.
