Freshman (2007):

McDonough started 18 games for the Eagles during the 2007, playing in 31 overall.  The catcher became the first freshman to make an opening day start for the Eagles since the 2003 season.  McDonough batted .231 with nine runs batted in, 10 runs scored and three doubles during the year.  His best offensive performance of the season came on April 1st against Oglethorpe University (Ga.), when he went two-for-three with three RBIs.  McDonough recorded five RBIs over a three-game stretch from April 1st through April 6th.

Attended Kingwood High School, where he played on the baseball team for four seasons... Named to the all-district & Houston all-City teams... Winner of the Wayne C. Simmons Award... Member of the Regional Championship team in 2004, the State Championship team in 2005 and the Co-District championship team in 2006... Coached by David Denny.
