Senior (2003-04):
In his senior season, Robert Spivey earned
the team award for Best Defensive Player. On the offensive side,
Spivey ranked fourth in conference play in three pointers made,
and sixth in three-point percentage. On the team, Spivey ranked
first in three-point field goals made, third in free throw percentage,
fourth in points and assists, and fifth in steals. In a win against
defending conference champion Washington (MO), Spivey scored a season
high 19 points, shooting 4-of-6 from behind the arc. Against Savannah
College of Art and Design, Spivey made six three pointers, tying
the school record for most treys in a game for the third time in
his career. Spivey graduates as first all-time in school history
in career three pointers made, first in career free throw percentage,
eighth in career points, 11th in field goals made and 12th in career
assists.
Junior (2002-03):
With the depth on the team this season,
Spivey was given the new role of a bench player and he provided
5.0 points a game. He had a season-high 17 points against Brandeis
(Mass.) on January 26 and had two other games with double-digit
scoring. The junior guard is on pace to become the career free-throw
percentage leader at Emory with a career .857 percentage. Spivey
holds a school record of 35 straight games with at least one three-point
field goal. The streak goes from January 5, 2001, to February 3,
2003. He ranks second all-time in Emory history in three-pointers
made. He is one field goal behind the record holder and enters next
season needing two to break the record.
Sophomore (2001-02):
Started in 24 of 25 games. Averaged 12.8
ppg and 2.2 rpg. Had a season-high 23 points twice. Had a season-high
six rebounds against Carnegie Mellon on February 15. Had a season-high
seven assists against Carnegie Mellon on February 15. Had a season-high
two blocks against Carnegie Mellon on February 15. Had a season-high
two steals four times.
Freshman (2000-01):
Started in 24 of 25 games. Averaged 13.4
ppg, including a .413 3-pt. percentage, 2.0 rpg and 1.8 apg. Had
a season-high 22 points twice. Had a season-high six rebounds at
Rust College (MS) on December 9. Had a season-high four assists
twice. Had a career-high three steals twice. Named Honorable Mention
All-UAA. Named to the D3Hoops.com Team of the Week for November
27-December 2, 2000. Named the team’s Rookie of the Year.
