Senior (2003):
The senior co-captain earned All-America
honors for the first time by placing 13th out of 215 runners at
the NCAA national meet, becoming the third Eagle All-American and
the first since 1987. He also earned all-region, all-conference,
and all-state honors for the fourth consecutive year. He won the
NCAA regional individual championship for the second consecutive
year becoming the first Eagle to ever achieve that feat. He is the
fourth Emory runner ever to earn all-region honors all four years.
He finished eighth at the University Athletic Association championships
for a third consecutive top-ten finish in his career at the conference
meet. At the Southeastern Classic, Hagedorn ran a season best time
of 25 minutes and 33 seconds, the fastest time for the Eagles this
season. His season average time of 25 minutes and 57 seconds was
the best on the team, as was his winning percentage of .952. His
season winning percentage was the third best in school history.
His season win total of 1,090 wins was the sixth best in Emory history.
He was the top finisher for Emory in seven of the eight races this
season and he finished among the top 15 runners overall in every
meet this season. Hagedorn has the most career wins (4,348) and
the second-highest career winning percentage (.866) in school history.
He was named the team's Most Valuable Performer. He was also named
Runner of the Year by Southregionrunning.com.
Junior (2002):
He was co-captain and earned all-region,
all-conference, and all-state honors for the third consecutive year.
He finished 41st out of 215 runners at the NCAA national meet, just
missing All-America honors by six spots. His time of 25 minutes
and 52 seconds was the eighth-fastest time ever for an Eagle at
the national meet. Hagedorn was the top finisher for Emory in all
eight meets this season. He won the NCAA regional individual championship,
becoming the fifth Eagle ever to accomplish this feat. His time
of 25 minutes and 31 seconds was the second-fastest time ever for
an Emory runner at regionals. Hagedorn was named regional Athlete
of the Year by the cross country coaches association. He was
also named Men's Runner of the Year by Southregionrunning.com.
His time of 24 minutes and 59 seconds at the Auburn (Ala.) Invitational
was a career best and the fifth-fastest time in Emory history. Hagedorn
finished the season with an 1194-91 won-loss record for a .929 winning
percentage.
Sophomore (2001):
He was co-captain and earned All-Region,
All-State, and All-Conference honors for the second consecutive
year. He was the Eagles' top finisher at each of those meets as
well as at the NCAA Division III national championships. At nationals,
he placed 52nd out of 211 runners in a career-best time 25 minutes
and 16 seconds putting him in a tie for the seventh fastest runner
in school history.
Freshman (2000):
He earned all-region honors with a 25th
place showing at the NCAA Division III regional championships and
all-conference honors with an 11th place finish at the University
Athletic Association championships. He became only the third freshman
in school history ever to garner all-conference honors. His time
of 25 minutes and 52 seconds at the University of Alabama Classic
makes him the 12th fastest individual in school history.
