Attended Hampton Roads Academy, where he was a five-year letterwinner on the swimming and diving team, and served as the team's captain during his senior season... Was a two-time high school All-American, and a USA Swimming Academic All-American... Finished sixth in the 400 medley relay at the Junior Nationals... Was coached by Steve Griffin... Also competed in crew and water polo.
