Sophomore (2007):
Earned All-America honors by virtue of his championship performance at the ITA South Atlantic Region Championships ... Finished runner-up at the Small College National Championships ... Finished the year with an overall record of 25-9 ... Posted a 17-7 won-lost mark in dual matches, all at the No. 1 post ... Teamed with Yoji Masuoka to the championship match of the NCAA D-III National Championships ... Concluded the year ranked as the No. 1 singles player in the South Region by the ITA and was No. 9 nationally ... Was tabbed as the UAA Player of the Week on three occasions.

Freshman (2006):
Michael Goodwin, who was named the ITA Rookie of the Year, finished 23-6 in his first season as an Emory Eagle.  Playing primarily at No. 1 singles, Goodwin finished 17-4, 1-0 at No. 2 and 1-0 at No. 3.  He was also 3-0 in UAA matches and 4-1 in ITA matches.  The freshman competed in seven three-set matches, holding a record of 4-3, while going 2-0 in third-set tiebreakers.  In doubles play he finished with a 25-7 record, including 15-3 with Yoji Masuoka at the No. 1 position.  The duo qualified for NCAA championships, before losing in the semifinals. Named freshman of the year in the UAA, while also earning first team honors for No. 1 singles and second team for No. 1 doubles.

Prior to Emory:
Played for four years on the Richard Montgomery High School tennis team.... Named the captain for the 2004 & 2005 seasons... Was a number one singles player for four seasons, compiling a 100-4 record... Was the state champion as a sophomore... Finished third in the state as a junior, and second in the state as a senior... Was coached by John Fahner... Formerly ranked seventh in the nation in the 14 and under group, 32nd in the 16 and under group and 35th in the 18 and under group... Played basketball in high school as well.
