Senior (2006):

Sunshine, the co-captain of the Eagles team in 2006, finished her season garnering numerous athletic and academic honors.  The team’s only senior became the fourth all-American in school history, when she was named to the Louisville Slugger/NFCA Division III All-America third team.  Sunshine was named to the all-Atlantic Region and the all-University Athletic Association first teams, along with the Jewish Sports Review All-America team.  After going six-for-17 with four runs scored and an RBI during the NCAA Regionals, the outfielder was named to the all-Salem regional tournament team.  Sunshine was named an Academic all-District second team member for her academic success as well.  Sunshine led the nation and tied a school single-season record with 11 triples during the season.  Sunshine also led Emory in slugging percentage (.640) and runs scored (41).  Her .415 batting average, three homeruns and 10 doubles were each good for second on the team during the season, and she finished third on the team with 31 runs batted in.  Sunshine finishes her Emory career with a .331 batting average, 119 runs scored and 11 triples, all which rank her in the top 10 in school history.  Her 43 career stolen bases are the most in school history.

Junior (2005):

Sunshine earned all-conference first-team honors this year after making the second team in 2004. She finished fifth on the team with a career-high .357 batting average, nearly 100 points higher than her previous best. Sunshine was 20th in the nation in NCAA Division III for most sacrifice bunts (17) and 40th for toughest to strike out (three strikeouts in 112 at bats). Sunshine was first on the team in runs scored, fourth in on base percentage, and fourth in hits. She had a 16-game hitting streak from Feb. 19-March 14. In the conference championship tournament, Sunshine batted .440 with a conference-leading 11 runs scored. She was a perfect 12-for-12 in stolen bases this season. For her career, Sunshine is 31-for-34 in steal attempts, three shy of the school record for most career steals. As an outfielder, Sunshine extended her flawless career fielding streak to 74 chances this season before being charged with the first error of her career.

Sophomore (2004):

Sunshine was named second-team all conference after batting .400 (8-for-20) at the UAA tournament. She finished 24th in the nation as the toughest player to strike out. On the year, Sunshine was second on the team in stolen bases (12), and fifth in runs scored (25) and multi-hit games (nine). She set single-season career highs in runs, hits, RBI, walks and steals. After two seasons, she ranks fifth all-time at Emory in career stolen bases (19).

Freshman (2003):

Sunshine played in 36 games, 29 of them starts, more than any other freshman. Playing primarily right field, Sunshine batted .250 with 21 runs scored, 11 RBI and seven stolen bases. She was 3-for-5 with two doubles, two runs scored and four RBI against Agnes Scott (Ga.) April 2. She went 3-for-3 with a run scored and an RBI against Savannah College of Art and Design (Ga.) March 29. She scored three runs and stole a base in the opening game of the NCAA Division III softball World Series, a 7-0 win over Wartburg (Iowa) May 16.

Went to Evanston Township High School…Earned All-Area second team honors and was on the All-Area honorable mention list …Named to All-Conference first team three times…Was named Team MVP…Named Team Best Offensive Player and Best Defensive Player

Played Travel ball with the Schaumburg Sluggers who earned second place in the NSA “A” Nationals in 2003.
