Senior (2007):
One game into the 2007 season, Briggs made the switch from forward to defender, and became one of the most impactful players on the Emory squad. She earned a spot on the all-University Athletic Association (UAA) second team, the first postseason honor of her career. Briggs helped lead an Emory defense that recorded 13 shutouts and a 0.48 goals against average for the season, the 11th-best mark in the country. Her play allowed Emory to hold its opponents to just over three shots on goal per match, and outscore teams 47-10 during the season. Briggs was one of just three players to start all 20 matches for the Eagles during the season, scoring one goal and adding two assists during the campaign. Against Oglethorpe University (Ga.) on September 23rd, she scored a goal and assisted on another during the Eagles’ 4-1 win over the Stormy Petrels.
Junior (2006):
Briggs finished fourth on the team in scoring during her first season with the Eagles, after transferring from University of South Carolina at the beginning of the season. Briggs’ six goals were the second-most on the Eagles. Four of her goals came in conference play (tying her for the University Athletic Association lead), including a game-winning scores against the University of Chicago (Ill.) and Case Western Reserve University (Ohio). She recorded her first multiple-goal game as an Eagle on October 22nd, scoring a pair against Mary Baldwin College (Va.). Briggs started 12 of the 14 games she played in for the Eagles during the campaign, as 17 of her 36 shots landed on goal.
