2004
Emory University completed the season
with a 21st-place finish at the NCAA Division III national
championships, the team's second-best finish since 1992. This
was the sixth consecutive year the team qualified for the
national meet.
Emory finished the season ranked 23rd in the national coaches'
poll, its highest rank of the season.
The team won the NCAA regional title for the sixth consecutive
year. Five runners earned all-region honors for the Eagles.
This is the sixth consecutive year the team has had at least
five all-region runners.
Andrew Podgurski became the fifth Eagle runner to earn all-region
honors all four years. He also earned all-conference second
team honors for the second year at the University Athletic
Association championships.

Nabeel Ahmed
The senior finished in the top seven for the Eagles in the
final five meets of the season including his first appearance
in the NCAA national meet. He ran a season-best time of 27
minutes and 53 seconds at the Clemson Invitational.
Owen Farcy
The senior earned all-region honors for the second consecutive
year, finishing fourth out of 143 runners at the NCAA regional
meet. He ran a career-best time of 26 minutes and four seconds
at the NCAA national meet. Farcy was second on the team in
wins, winning percentage and season average time. His win
total of 1,081 wins is the eighth-highest season total in
school history. He lowered his season average time by nearly
50 seconds compared to last season. He finished among the
top four runners for the Eagles in all nine meets this season
and was the No. 2 runner for Emory in six meets. He received
the Coaches' Award for the team.
Bryan Forsyth
The freshman finished in the top seven for the Eagles in every
meet this season, the first freshman runner to do this since
2001. His winning percentage of .612 was fifth best on the
team and best among new runners. He ran a season-best time
of 27 minutes and 10 seconds at the NCAA pre-national meet.
Forsyth was named the team's Most Outstanding Newcomer.
Jonathan High
The senior earned all-region honors for the first time, finishing
seventh out of 143 runners at the NCAA regional meet. He improved
his times dramatically this season, lowering his season average
time by more than three minutes compared to last season. He
ran a career best time of 26 minutes and 18 seconds at the
NCAA pre-national meet. High's 992 wins and .749 winning percentage
were third best on the team. His win total this season is
more than triple his win total for the last three seasons
combined. He finished among the top four runners for the Eagles
in every meet this season. He was named the team's Most Improved
Runner.
Kile Krol
The sophomore earned all-region honors for the first time,
finishing 12th out of 143 runners at the NCAA regional meet.
He finished among the top four for the Eagles in the final
five meets of the season. He ran a career-best time of 26
minutes and 28 seconds at the NCAA national meet. Krol's winning
percentage of .682 was fourth best on the team.
Rob Leventhal
The sophomore earned all-region honors for the first time,
finishing 18th out of 143 runners at the NCAA regional meet.
He improved his time at regionals by more than two and a half
minutes compared to last season. He ran a season-best time
of 27 minutes and 28 seconds at the NCAA national meet. He
finished in the top 10 for the Eagles in all nine meets this
season and among the top five in five meets.
Andrew Podgurski
The senior captain earned all-region honors for the fourth
time, finishing third out of 143 runners at the NCAA regional
meet. He became the fifth Eagle runner to earn all-region
honors all four years. He earned all-conference second team
honors for the second year, finishing 13th at the conference
championships. He ran a career-best time of 25 minutes and
42 seconds at the Clemson Invitational. He ran times of faster
than 26 minutes in three 8,000-meter races this season and
was the only Eagle runner to run faster than 26 minutes this
season. Podgurski was the No. 1 runner for Emory in every
meet this season and he led the team in wins, winning percentage
and season average time. His win total of 1,179 wins is the
second-highest season total in school history. His career
win total of 3,954 wins is the third best in school history.
His career winning percentage of .786 is sixth best in school
history. He received the team's Most Valuable Performer award.
