Emory University closed out the 2005 indoor season with the distance relay medley team's appearance at the NCAA Division III national championships.The relay finished ninth at the championships with a time of 12 minutes, 16.51 seconds.

Emory was 38th in the final national power ratings compiled by the U.S. Track Coaches Association. The rating measures the quality of a team's depth.

Emory finished second at the University Athletic Association indoor championships, improving on its fourth-place finish last season. The team had seven all-conference performers (top three finishes).

Senior Angela Davie was named regional indoor track female Athlete of the Year by the U.S. Track Coaches Association. Davie finished first in the mile at the UAA championships, with a time of 5:05.03, a school record. Davie's time qualified her provisionally for the NCAA Division III national championships.

Senior Dorothy Boone finished second in the 5000-meter race with a time of 17:55.06 at the UAA championships.

Sophomore Jane Ukandu finished second in the 200-meter dash at the UAA championships. Her time of 26.24 seconds was the second fastest in Emory history and a personal best.

Other all-conference athletes at the UAA championships were: Caroline Hagedorn (5000 meter run), Julia Morton (800 meter run), Lauren Shores (Mile run), and Emily Watts (55 meter dash)

Freshman Tracy Whittaker finished fourth in the pole vault at the UAA championships with a height of 3.10 meters (10 feet, 2 inches), setting an Emory record.

The distance medley relay team, comprised of freshman Lauren Shores, sophomores Meghan Callier and Julia Morton, and senior Angela Davie, set the Emory school record with a time of 12 minutes and 11.79 seconds. This was the third time that the relay registered a better time than the school record at the beginning of the season.
