QUOTATIONS FROM EMORY UNIVERSITY'S LOSS TO THE UNIVERSITY OF PUGET SOUND'S IN THE SECOND ROUND
Emory Head Coach Sue Patberg:
On playing Puget Sound:
"They are a good team. I thought Puget Sound did a great job of covering us throughout the game. Give our girls a lot of credit thought. I thought they played hard and didn't give up at any point tonight.
On seniors:
"Our seniors are great people. They have done a good job for us all year long. They displayed great leadership and led the team. I am going to miss them. I wish I could have had one more year with them. They did some great things for the team this year. Just look at the stats and you can tell the impact they have had this season."
U. of Puget Sound's Head Coach Dan Keene:
On Emory's play:
"Emory put a lot of pressure on our backline. Number 24, Nancy Wilson, is a handful. She was able to cause some issues for us. Our back-forward bent but didn't break. The insurance goal was huge for us because Emory kept the pressure constant and really tested our backline."
On Puget Sound's chances in the NCAA Sectionals:
"We are playing each game with lots of confidence. We like our ability to defend and finish scoring chances, and we feel as well-balanced as last year's squad."
On travelling across the country to play in Atlanta:
"We actually really enjoyed travelling. It rains all the time in Washington so it was a a treat to visit a beautiful city and campus. Emory University was a wonderful host."

EAGLES ADVANCE TO SECOND ROUND ON GOLDEN GOAL
(Nov. 12) Emory University (13-2-2) defeated the University of the South (Tenn.) 1-0, in the first overtime period of the game.
For the second time this season, the Tigers and the Eagles finished regulation scoreless. In the previous meeting, two overtime periods were not enough to decide the game, which ended in a tie.

In the 57th minute of the game, Franciscovich made a game-saving stop, diving to her right to prevent a hard shot off the leg of Becky Gaddis from entering the net.
